Ben Franklin said BEER is proof there is a God
It is just that everyone is drinking it. I feel so snoby about bringing my own beer. I never want people to feel bad that I am not drinking their beer, but really do I have to? I feel that way about alot of things.
Take golf for instance. I have played some really great courses, but spent a ton of money on them. Crap, I could spend the same amount of money and buy a really nice pair of shoes. At least I would have the pleasure of wearing them for many months to come. Me, I usually play my little par 3/4 course that is a bargain at 19.50 on the weekends. The course is a little patchy, slow and worst of all filled with old men. They should be giving out Rascals instead of carts. Using my best golf course manners I try not to roll my eyes when they can't find the forward pedal in the cart. Crap, they used to be young once. It's all about you senior man, I think I will have another beer, want to share?
So we are out on the course and wow it is feeling so right. My mates have no idea that I have the laptop again. I brought the good stuff today. They have never had 9 % alcohol beer before. We are working on the 7th bottle. They are playing like crap. A man once told me that golf is an excuse to drink beer! I love all the things you say. I love the fact that everyone is very drunk and couldn't hit a car if it was right in front of them!
I told you that life is about all the choices you make. I made a great one today, I stayed, played and got even with the men in my game that think I am less than I am. You guys kept saying I am smarter than I look. Now you know it! Poor babies. I love you all anyway! I will not be the one buying tonight! I love that fact that I am playing well, but it is bitter sweet . In my quest to get everyone drunk no one is sober enough to see me playing really well! I am enjoying watching them pitch it out of the sand, the rough and the woods! It is the little things! I think that we all have to find that right balance of good and bad. If I was nice and sweet all the time then I think I might crack up and end up in the Betty Ford Clinic.
Life is great, but when it throws you a curve you either duck out of the way or take your swing. If you duck, don't be surprised if people call you a chicken, take your lumps. When you take your swing, do it with honesty, respect, and most of all your heart. No one can fault you if you do and it still does not work out, you did your best. Anyone who says that well your best was not good enough. Shut up, no one asked you! Now go get me a coffee!
